Lauderdale/Broward CC) had five service aces in the match, which ties for seventh in the all-time individual match records.

The Golden Knights held Samford to a .028 hitting percentage, and outblocked them eight to five. UCF has won each of its nine meetings with Samford since 1987.

"We did a good job of maintaining our leads, closing the match out in three," said UCF head coach Meg Colado. "These were two young teams who were going after each other. It's a good indication of what's to come."

Samford will wrap up it four-game road trip with a very important TAAC match at Jacksonville State on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
