Short-Handed Bulldogs Fall to Notre Dame
Sept. 16, 2000 Tallahassee, Fla. - The Samford Bulldogs lost its final match of the Lady Seminole Classic to Notre Dame on Saturday. The Bulldogs played all three games with only six players as an injury kept junior Shellie Ouldhouse from being able to play. Ouldhouse, who had been the Bulldogs leading hitting, twisted her ankle in Samford's victory over FAMU on Friday was unable to play against the Irish. Notre Dame, who received votes for the top 25 this week took the match three games to none to improve to 7-3 on the season. All three of their losses have come to top 25 opponents. The Bulldogs dropped to 6-5. Angela Smith led Samford with eight kills while Stefanie Pickett added six kills.
Samford will return to action on Tuesday night as it travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama in a 7 p.m. match.
