BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's and women's tennis team will host their final conference opponent Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs will take on Tennessee Tech in a 1 p.m. match-up at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion on the west side of the Samford University campus.

The Samford men will play their final home match of the season, while the women will host only two more matches before taking to the road for their final matches against conference opponents.

The Samford women come off a victory over in-state rival Jacksonville State, keeping them at the top spot in conference standings and continuing their undefeated OVC streak. The Bulldogs won 4-3, sending the Gamecocks to 8-11, 4-4 OVC.

The Gamecock men handed the Samford men their first conference loss of the season as the result of a tough 4-3 match. Conference undefeated duo Stuart Misner/Hank Grant grabbed one of the two doubles matches for Samford.

The Tennessee Tech and Samford men's teams were tied at the top of the conference standings a week ago. Samford looks to even things up again with a win over the Golden Eagles on Friday.
