Women's Tennis Hosts Florida A&M Thursday

March 5, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford women's tennis team will host its second home match Thursday as they take on the Lady Rattlers on Florida A&M in an afternoon match at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion. The Bulldogs (5-2) look to break a two-match skid against the Lady Rattlers (0-4).

The Bulldogs come off a tough weekend in which they picked up their second loss of the season at College of Charleston. The Samford women fell short, 4-3, in a match that came down to the wire.

The Lady Rattlers have lost all four matches played so far this season. FAMU opened up the season with three road losses at Jacksonville, Georgia State, Central Florida and No. 22 Florida State.

Match play between the Bulldogs and the Lady Rattlers begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion on the west end of Samford's campus. A full recap and results will be available on www.samfordsports.com following the match.
