Women's Tennis Faces A Future Conference Foe In College Of Charleston
Feb. 29, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford women's tennis team will travel to South Carolina this weekend to take on a future Southern Conference opponent in College of Charleston. The Bulldogs (5-1) and the Cougars (6-1) will face off in a Saturday afternoon match at the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriot's Point. The Samford women had a five-game win streak snapped on Sunday by cross-town rival UAB. The match, played in cold and windy weather, came down to the wire but the Blazers managed to come out victorious and hand the Bulldogs their first loss of the season. The College of Charleston women have one loss sandwich amid six wins, their most recent on the road at North Florida. The first three wins for the Cougars were 7-0 sweeps before being swept themselves by current No. 30 team South Carolina. Match play starts at 3 p.m. CT at the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriot's Point. A recap and results will be available at www.samfordsports.com.
