Bulldogs Turn In Successful Day At UNF Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In the first day of the 2008 UNF Invitational, Samford's Taylor Morgan picked up a victory in singles play Friday, while Andrie Meiring and Stephanie Parkison teamed to win in doubles action. Lindsey Mallory and Morgan also paired to a victory in the doubles bracket.

Morgan, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., defeated Georgia Southern, 6-4, 6-2, in the opening round of singles play. In doubles action, she teamed with Mallory and routed Stetson's Breanna Atkinson and Katherine Nowicki, 8-1.

Also in doubles play, Samford's Meiring and Parkison knocked off Stetson's Natalie Gorham and Unnati Purushotham, 8-2.

The Samford University women's tennis team will conclude play in the 2008 UNF Invitational on Saturday morning on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
