MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Samford women's tennis players Stephanie Parkison and Kristin Lewis teamed up to win the Blue doubles flight championship Sunday at the 2009 Memphis Collegiate Invitational being held at the University of Memphis. The Bulldogs' doubles pair knocked off the duo of Meredith Burns and Anne Marie Herbold, 8-6, in the championship final.

Samford's combination of Parkison and Lewis finished the three-day tournament with a 3-0 record. En route to Sunday's championship final, the Bulldogs' tandem knocked off doubles pairs from Memphis and Belmont.

The Samford University women's tennis team will next be in action Oct. 9-11, as the Bulldogs head to Jacksonville, Fla., for the 2009 University of North Florida Fall Invite.
