Women's Tennis Record Kept Spotless With Win Over Redhawks

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. ---- The Samford women's tennis team remains undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference play after a 6-1 win over the Redhawks of Southeast Missouri on Sunday. The Bulldogs moved to 12-5 overall and 6-0 in conference play on the season. After sweeping the doubles point by winning all three duo matches, the Bulldogs went on to win five out of six singles matches. No. 1 player Taylor Morgan fell, 6-0, 6-3, to Bryce Kristal but the rest of the Bulldog clan earns wins at their respective courts to take the match, 6-1. Katie Weaver and Lindsey Mallory blanked their opponents at the No. 4 and No. 6 courts, respectively, while Andrie Meiring, Anna Jackson and Rebecca Kirven all added wins to their conference records. The Samford women are back in action Thursday, April 9, as they wrap up their two-week long road trip at Tennessee State. The Bulldogs and the Tigers are slated to begin match play at 3 p.m. CT.
