HANCEVILLE, Ala. - Samford University's women's tennis team defeated Wallace State 6-1 Wednesday. The Bulldogs lost only one match on the afternoon and bumped their record up to 5-7.

Katie Crawford continued her strong play both at No. 2 singles and as Emily Nunnally's No. 1 doubles partner, recording two wins. Lisa Stertzer and Jen Pharr each picked up two wins on the afternoon. Jenny Walls recorded a win at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles. And Lane Santa Cruz made her return to the Samford lineup with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Bulldogs (5-7) are now off until a March 22 match at Spring Hill.
