Women's Tennis Falls To Jacksonville State

Samford University's women's tennis team dropped to 5-4 on the season with a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Jacksonville State. The Bulldogs started strong, winning at No. 1 doubles with Emily Nunnally and Katie Crawford. The Gamecocks battled back and won the doubles point by virtue of victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
Jacksonville State continued its strong play in singles, winning at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. Samford's Katie Crawford registered her second win of the day at No. 2 singles, and Lisa Stertzer picked up a singles victory at No. 3.
The Bulldogs are off Wednesday and Thursday, and return to action Friday, hosting Eastern Illinois, and Saturday, against UAB. The match Friday begins at 2 p.m. at the Samford tennis courts.
