Women's Tennis Falls at FAMU
Jan. 31, 2001 The early part of the 2001 season has not been an easy one for the Samford women's tennis team. The Bulldogs fell to 0-3 after a 6-1 loss at Florida A&M in a match much closer than the score on Tuesday. Katherine Jayroe gave the Bulldogs their only victory at number two singles. Samford dropped three matches in the third set including Emily Nunnally's match at number three which had to be decided by a tie-breaker. Nunnally and Brooke Bryant combined for a victory at number two doubles but it was not enough to gain the doubles point. Samford will return home for its first match at the Samford Tennis Complex on Friday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. against the University of Memphis.
