Freshman (2007-08): Turned in a stellar 18-5 record in singles play during her freshman season, including an 8-2 mark against Ohio Valley Conference opponents . . . named the OVC's Tennis Female Athlete of the Week on March 20 after she tallied a perfect 3-0 record in dual matches against conference-foes Jacksonville State and Austin Peay, as well as a non-conference win versus Houston . . . finished 8-4 when playing at the No. 2 singles position and went undefeated at the No. 3 (4-0), No. 4 (4-0) and No. 5 (2-0) positions . . . opened the season with a phenomenal 13-match winning streak in singles play . . . she didn't lose a singles match until March 27 when she dropped a hard-fought contest against No. 7-ranked Alida Muller-Wehlau from Armstrong Atlantic . . . competed in doubles play with fellow freshman Rebecca Kirven . . . the duo concluded the season with an 18-7 record and an 11-1 mark in OVC play . . . the pair also went 17-7 at the No. 3 doubles position and earned one victory at the No. 2 spot . . . during the 2008 fall tournament season, she earned a key singles win against Kentucky's Jennifer Stone, 6-2, 6-4, at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic . . . she also defeated Troy's Mirte Debakker, 6-4, 7-5, at the prestigious 2008 ITA Southern Regional Championships . . . earned her first varsity letter.

Andrie Meiring

High School: Finished her prep career ranked as high as No. 2 nationally in singles play in the Under-18 category . . . was also ranked as high as No. 1 in doubles action in the Under-18's in both 2006 and 2007 . . . played at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions in high school and won the South African Schools Championship in seven-straight seasons . . . chose to attend Samford over Washington State and Boise State.
