Samford University softball is hosting a pitchers clinic on Nov. 16 and a coaches clinic on Nov. 17. The camps will be held on campus at the Samford softball field weather permitting, with Bashinsky Fieldhouse as an alternate site.

Michael Bastian, a member of the 2002 USA Softball National Team Coaching Pool and the former Head Coach of the Women's Professional Softball League Akron Racers, is the featured guest.

The pitchers clinic is scheduled for Nov. 16. The camp runs from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for pitchers ages 7-12. Pitchers ages 13-18 are scheduled for 2-5 p.m. The cost of the camp is $60.00 per pitcher and campers are advised to bring practice clothers, tennis shoes or cleats, and a glove.

The coaches clinic is from 1-4 p.m. on Nov. 17, and costs $60.00 per person. Participants are advised to bring writing materials, practice clothes, tennis shoes and a glove.

The objectives of the clinic are to teach how to utilize the body's mechanics to maximize velocity, spin and accuracy, how to use the ground for power, and other basic pitching tips.
