BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford softball canceled its weekend trip to Dayton, Ohio to play in the Dayton Invitational due to hazardous weather conditions in Ohio this weekend.

The Bulldogs were to face Dayton on Friday in a single-game and then begin tournament play on Saturday and Sunday against Cleveland State, Wright State, Miami of Ohio and Dayton. But snow on Thursday and weekend forecasts of sleet and temperatures in the mid 30's made the trip not conducive to playing softball.

Samford's next action will be in the Magic City Classic on March 8-9. Samford will host the Birmingham-area tournament. It is a round robin between UAB, Birmingham-Southern, and Samford.
