BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Janet Middleton went 3-4 in game one to become Samford's all-time leader in hits but the Bulldogs road woes continued as Samford dropped an Atlantic Sun Conference double-header at Campbell 5-4 and 3-1 on Friday evening.

Middleton singled in her first three at bats to give her 158 career hits passing Pam Abernathy's (1989-92) school record of 157 career hits. The career hits record is the third career record that Middleton now owns. She is also Samford's career leader in RBI and doubles.

The Bulldogs (13-21, 0-6 A-Sun) took the lead in the first inning of game one. Michelle Wright doubled home Amber Fuller with the games first run, but the Bulldogs could not do any more damage despite having the bases loaded with one out.

In the bottom of the first Campbell (22-23, 3-7 A-Sun) scored five runs on five hits and one Samford error. Carolyn Fortney had a bases loaded double which scored three runs. Leslie Standiford and Lisa Evans each had RBI singles in the inning.

Samford starter Amber Fuller settled down after the first inning and allowed just one hit and two base runners over the next six innings. The Bulldogs picked up single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Mindy Shunnarah singled home pinch runner Sarah Godfrey in the fifth and Dana Saffles singled and scored on a fielder's choice ground out by Middleton.

In game two, Campbell starter Kathy Freaney gave up just one run on four hits while striking out eight. The Camels took advantage of two Samford errors to score two unearned runs off Erin Landsburg. Samford's scored in the seventh inning as Kelly Smith scored on a RBI ground out by Shunnarah.

Samford is 0-9 in road games this season and will try to snap an eight-game losing streak at Elon University on Saturday. The game time has been moved to 2 p.m. eastern time.
