STATESBORO, Ga. - Middle Tennessee State pitcher Amanda Kendall pitched a two-hit complete game shut out as MTSU defeated Samford, 4-0, Saturday morning at the GSU/Reebox Invitational Tournament at Georgia Southern University.

Michelle Ashley continues push for all-tournament consideration as she went 1-3 from the plate and threw a runner out at home plate. Janet Middleton had Samford's other hit. Brianne Mertens fell to 2-7 on the season by pitching six innings giving up four runs on eight hits.

Samford will face Coastal Carolina Saturday night in the final game of pool play. Tournament play will begin on Sunday.
