2007 OVC All-Newcomer Team

A definite sparkplug in the offense . . . packs great power and will be depended on to drive in runs . . . if she's seeing the ball and is in one of her grooves, then the opposition better look out.

2007 (Freshman): Named to the 2007 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer team . . . earned OVC Player of the Week honors April 16 as she connected on a pair of home runs and tallied nine runs batted in . . . started all 54 games as a true freshman and led the team with 163 at-bats . . . finished the season ranked second on the team with a .294 batting average and was tied for the team-lead in both home runs (7) and triples (2) . . . was also a near-perfect 6-of-7 in stolen base attempts . . . concluded the season as one of the Bulldogs' top defensive players with a .980 fielding percentage . . . tied for the team's lead with 13 multiple-hit games, including a pair of three-hit outings against Charleston Southern Feb. 16 and Jacksonville State April 11 . . . registered a five-game hitting streak and tallied six multiple-RBI outings, including two four-RBI performances against Austin Peay March 31 and Eastern Kentucky April 14 . . . batted a team-high .714 (10-of-14) with runners on third base and less than two outs . . . turned in a .320 batting average against left-handed pitchers . . . drove in the Bulldogs' game-winning run in a 2-1 eighth-inning victory against Birmingham-Southern on March 3 . . . recorded a season-high two doubles in a 5-2 win versus Nicholls State on April 12 . . . earned her first varsity letter.

High School: Led all North Carolina high school players in runs batted in as a junior . . . she finished the 2005 season with 46 RBIs . . . also finished the year ranked third in the state in runs scored (38) at Central Cabarrus High School . . . named to the North Carolina Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association All-State Team as a senior . . . earned All-South Region honors at second base . . . played under the tutelage of head coach Monte Sherrill at CCHS and helped lead the Vikings to four-straight conference championships and a pair of North Carolina state titles in 2004 and 2005 . . . her high school team was ranked No. 1 in the nation . . . also lettered in basketball at CCHS . . . finished her high school career with a grade point average above 4.0 . . . named a North Carolina Scholar . . . member of the Beta Club and the National Honor Society.
