SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

My favorite Samford memory:
My time as a member of Samford soccer has been filled with so many amazing memories. Some include winning the OVC regular season, beating Murray State after being down by three goals, winning lots of intramural games, staying awake for 48-straight hours at Talladega, the vegetable game on the bus ride, "our room is straight pippin" (haha), the many dance parties, oh and of course the time that Coach Yelton ate a locust. These memories are special because of the teammates who have become and will remain wonderful friends for a long time.

One thing I'll miss the most about Samford soccer:
The blessing of friendship among teammates!!! I have been through both difficult and exciting times with these girls. The experiences, whether waking up at 4:30 a.m., to run a fitness test, rejoicing over a victory, running the infamous gauntlet, enduring the preseason or eating in the café together, have created an indescribable bond. My teammates and coaches are definitely my family away from home.

The most important thing I could tell freshmen about college life and playing soccer is:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for men" (Colossians 3:23). College is a pivotal time to build a foundation for the rest of your life. Wisely and enthusiastically invest your time in developing mentally, emotionally, relationally, physically and above all spiritually.

The lessons that I have learned from playing soccer that will help me in my everyday life:
Perseverance, time management, teamwork, flexibility, setting and accomplishing goals.
