CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Tara Clayton and Kelly Villarreal shot 80 to tie for sixth place in the individual competition and the Samford women's golf team is fifth after the first round of the Precept Intercollegiate golf tournament at the Clarksville Country Club.

Samford (335) begins Tuesday's round in the middle of the 10-team field, trailing the leader Bradley University (317) by 18 strokes. Clayton and Villarreal begin Tuesday's round only four strokes behind the individual leader, Bradley's Agnes Kim. Tricia Harlow shot 86, Sara Gossum posted a first-round 89 and Courtney Sanders (90) rounded out the Bulldog roster.
