GREENVILLE, S.C. - Heavy rains caused the final round of the Lady Paladin Invitational to be halted Sunday due to unplayable course conditions at the par-72, 6,199-yard Furman University Golf Course. All scores and standings were reverted back to Saturday's finish. Samford placed 13th, while senior Katelyn Stanier finished tied for 11th.

"I'm very proud of how our team performed out there today," said Samford head coach Woodie Eubanks. "They all battled the rain and the weather and we were playing very well. We had already gained eight positions in the standings, but then the course was deemed unplayable. All in all, I was pleased with how we played this weekend in our season opener."

Nova Southeastern claimed the team title at the 38th Lady Paladin Invitational. The cancellation of the third round gave the Sharks, leaders after Saturday's second round, a four-stroke victory over second place Campbell.

Nova Southeastern's Sandra Changkija (75-72=147) took individual medalists honors at three-over par. Furman's Stefanie Kenoyer (76-73=149) and Campbell's Mary Mattson (77-72=149) tied for second place at five-over par.

The Samford University women's golf team will next be in action Friday-Sunday as the Bulldogs travel to Sunset Beach, N.C., for the 2009 Elon Intercollegiate being held at the Sun Trail Golf Resort.
