CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The Samford University women's golf team competed today (Oct. 25) at the F&M APSU Intercollegiate, hosted by Austin Peay at the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn. To finish round one, the Bulldogs placed sixth out of 12 teams with a score of 334.

"Everybody improved tremendously," said head coach Ian Thompson. "It was a beautiful day and we finished with respectable scores in round one. There were many fast greens as well as some difficult shots, but I take great pride in the performance of the team today. We look hopeful to tomorrow's competition in hopes of shooting a better score."

Kelly Villarreal was Samford's top finisher with score of 81, while Kelly Stout and Brooke Barriento both shot 84 each.
