DECATUR, Ala. - The Samford University women's golf team finished the OVC Championships in seventh place with a score of 1024 (339-340-345) . The women's competition was held at the Decatur Country Club with Jacksnville State taking the crown with a score of 956 (321-320-315), while Eastern Kentucky carded 958 (321-316-321) for second and Tennessee Tech shot 961 (330-310-321) for third.

Samford's top Bulldog performer, Kelly Villarreal finished in a tie for 23rd place with a score of 253 (84-83-86).

Also competiting for the Bulldogs, Brooke Barriento finished in 25th place with a score of 254 (77-90-87), while Tricia Harlow shot 256 (87-87-82) for 27th place, Ashleigh Hicks carded 268 (96-82-90) for 33rd place and Kelly Stout shot 270 (91-88-91) for 34th place.
