Men's Golf Falls To Third, Women Take Sixth To End Day Two Of OVC Championships :: The Bulldogs host championships in Decatur, Ala.

DECATUR, Ala. - The Samford University golf teams completed day two of the OVC Golf Championships Tuesday afternoon (April 19) with the women's team at Decatur Country Club, while the men's teams battled at the Burningtree Golf Club. For round two, the Samford men's team fell to third place with a score of 583 (287-296), while the women's team sits at sixth place with a score of 679 (339-340). On the women's side, Eastern Kentucky remains in the lead with a total score of 637 (321-316), while Tennessee Tech shot 640 (330-310) for second and Jacksonville State carded 641 (321-320) for third.

On the Samford's men's side, Bradley Farmer took the lead with a score of 143 (74-69), while Andrew Villarreal shot 145 (72-73). Nathan Turner shot 146 (70-76), while Ryan Mayberry carded 149 (71-78) and Reed Davis shot 158 (77-81).

On the Samford's women's side, Ashleigh Hicks shot the best for the Bulldogs in today's round with a score of 178 (96-82), while Kelly Villarreal leads the Bulldogs with a score of 167 (84-83). Bulldog Brooke Barriento shot 167 (77-90), while Tricia Harlow carded 174 (87-87) and Kelly Stout shot 179 (91-88).

The Bulldogs will finish hosting the last round of the OVC Golf Tournament on Wednesday, April 20 in Decatur, Ala. Starting tee time is set for 8 a.m.
