HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Samford University women's golf team completed day one of the Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Southern Mississippi at the Canebrake Country Club on Monday afternoon (April 4). The Bulldogs shot 322 for the first round, while carding 325 for round two.

"I am very encouraged on the score the Bulldogs posted today," said head coach Ian Thompson. "Samford's top-three finishers performed extremely well for day one. We hope to finish just as well in the last round on tomorrow."

Top Bulldog performer for the day, Kelly Villarreal shot 77 for round one and carded 78 for round two.

Also competing well for Samford, Tricia Harlow carded 80 for each round, while Kelly Stout shot 82 for round one and 78 for round two. Ashleigh Hick carded 83 for round one and shot 89 for round two.
