CALERA, Ala. - The Samford University women's golf team placed 14th after round one of the Third-Annual Applebee's/ Up The Creek Samford Intercollegiate on Monday (March 21). The competition took place at the Timberline Golf Course, located in the Calera, Ala. After round one, Campbell takes the lead with a score of 295, while Jacksonville State places second (300) and Middle Tennessee State sits third (302). The Bulldogs shot 341 for round one.

For round one, Samford's Brooke Barriento led the Bulldogs with a score of 83, while Kelly Stout shot 84, Kelly Villarreal carded 86, Courtney Warr shot 88 and Tricia Harlow carded 89.

Playing as an individual, Samford's Christine Sparks shot 83, while Ashleigh Hicks carded 85.

Round two of the Samford Intercollegiate will continue tomorrow (March 22) at the Timberline Golf Course, located in Calera, Ala. Tee time is set for a shotgun start at 9 a.m. All results will be posted at www.samfordsports.com after the completion of each day's tournament.
