SAMFORD: Head coach Mike Morris makes his coaching debut when the Bulldogs host the Crimson Tide in the season-opener for both teams. Morris, who served as an assistant coach for eight seasons for Samford's men's team, looks to bring a variation of the Princeton Style Offense to the women's game. Samford begins a new era after finishing 3-24 in 2001-02. Junior forward Giovanni Price led the team last season averaging 11.2 point per game. Sophomore forward Morgan Vickery set a school record for three-pointers made in a season with 45 last season.

ALABAMA: Alabama won one of its two exhibition games in the preseason. The Crimson Tide lost to Premier Players, 78-72, but defeated Berry College, 102-50. Alabama had four players average in double figures during the preseason: Jamilah Johns (14.5 ppg), Beth Vice (13.0 ppg), Natasha Gamble (11.0 ppg) and Manisha Redus (11.0 ppg).

INSIDE STUFF: The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide have met five times with Alabama winning last season's meeting, 96-44, in Tuscaloosa. Alabama leads the series, 5-0. Samford returns four starters from a year ago while the Crimson Tide only has two starters returning. The last time in Seibert Hall, Alabama won, 66-42.

ON AIR: The game can be heard on the Crimson Tide Network.
