Samford continues play in the Atlantic Sun South Division when the Bulldogs (5-14, 1-7 A-Sun) travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to face Jacksonville Saturday at 1p.m in women's college basketball action. The Bulldogs are coming off a 52-48 win over Stetson Thursday night for their first A-Sun win of the season.

Noot Pittman scored a career-high 17 points and Samford outscored Stetson, 36-22, in the second half as the Bulldogs rallied to defeat the Hatters. Che' Walker scored 10 points as Samford's post players combined for 36 of the Bulldogs 52 points. Kristy Brown scored 11 points to lead three Stetson players in double figures. Samford shot 48 percent including 56 percent from 3-point range in the second half to overcome a 26-16 halftime deficit.

Jacksonville (4-15, 2-6 A-Sun) fell to Belmont on the road, 58-37, Thursday night. Kat Sungy scored a game-high 14 points. Kara Donnell pulled down 10 rebounds for the Dolphins. JU shot 40 percent from field in the game but committed 32 turnovers. Sungy leads the team averaging 13.7 points per game. The Dolphins are shooting 44 percent from the field as a team.

Samford and Jacksonville meet for the seventh time with the Bulldogs holding a 4-2 advantage. The teams split last season's series with JU winning, 91-65, in Jacksonville and Samford winning, 55-54, in Birmingham.

The Bulldogs wrap up cross-divisional play next week. Samford travels to Mercer Thursday and Troy State Saturday.
