Samford continues conference play Saturday when the Bulldogs host Belmont at 3:30 p.m. in Seibert Hall in women's college basketball action. It will be the final game of a four-game homestand for the Bulldogs (4-9, 0-2 A-Sun) who have gone 1-2 the past three games.

Junior forward Giovanni Price leads the team averaging 12.0 points per game. Price has scored in double figures four out of the last five games. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of conference games last week at home to Jacksonville State and Georgia State.

Belmont (10-3, 1-1 A-Sun) has the best overall record in the conference. The Lady Bruins defeated Lipscomb, 75-67, Tuesday night. Belmont's lone conference loss came at home to Jacksonville State, 70-68. Chasity Campbell scored 19 points to lead five Lady Bruins in double figures against the Lady Bruins. Belmont will be without its leading scoring Erica Davenport (13 ppg). Campbell currently leads the team averaging 12.4 points per game.

Samford will have its hands full with the conference's second best scoring offense (71.5 ppg) and third best scoring defense (61.8 ppg). The Bulldogs themselves rank sixth in scoring defense allowing 63.6 ppg and fourth in rebounding defense averaging 36.2 boards per game.

Samford and Belmont meet for the fifth time with the Lady Bruins leading the series 4-0. The Lady Bruins swept last season's series winning, 77-70, in Birmingham and, 92-60, in Nashville.

The Bulldogs hit the road for two conference games next week. Samford plays at Campbell Thursday and Gardner-Webb next Saturday.
