Claire Moon begins her second season as an assistant coach at Samford. Moon was a graduate assistant for two years for Samford before going to Wright State for the 2001-02 season.

"Claire adds a great deal to our program as a coach and as a person," said Head Coach Mike Morris. "She is one of the brightest and most detail-oriented coaches I know. These qualities, along with her knowledge of the game, are why she will be an outstanding teacher of our system. Claire also possesses a good eye for talent and will be a great asset in recruiting."

Moon graduated from Berry College in 1998, where she was an NAIA Third-Team All-American. She was the 1997 Northwest Georgia Player of the Year and garnered 1994 Georgia Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year honors.

She spent two seasons on the Samford staff under former coach Janet Cone before being named as an assistant coach at Wright State. While at Wright State, she assisted in every aspect of the program, from on-court coaching to recruiting and academic enhancement.

Moon is a native of Tifton, Ga. She received a B.S. in health and physical education from Berry and her master's degree in educational leadership from UAB in 2001.
