The Red Sea, the official student booster club of Samford Athletics, will play a vital role in creating an exciting atmostphere for Samford Athletes to compete in their final year of competetion in the Ohio Valley Conference. Membership in the Red Sea is only $5 for entering freshmen, and just $10 for upperclassmen. As a member of the Red Sea, you receive the 2007-08 Red Sea T-Shirt, Red Sea discount card with discounts to many local sponsors, gift certificates from sponsors, and the opportunity to take advantage of all of the Red Sea promotions throughout the school year.

Gavin Mayo, Co-President and Founder of The Red Sea, has been approached by athletes from every team on campus about this upcoming year. "I've talked with at least one athlete from each team on campus, and each athlete I've talked to has stressed the importance of student support at home athletic events. We can play a huge role in creating a home field advantage for each team, and it's also a great way for students to get out and meet other people at these games," Mayo said.

The Red Sea also has a committee that meets frequently to create Red Sea promotions that will give members an extra incentive to attend games. Ruth Amagliani, Co-President of The Red Sea, has been very pleased with the involvment of the Red Sea Committee, even over the summer. "We've got a great group of students this year that really care about the Samford Athletic programs. They've been in contact all summer about planning events for this upcoming year and I think we're going to have a great year with The Red Sea," she said.
