BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Kemper Baker was named as Samford's new men's tennis coach Tuesday by Director of Athletics Bob Roller.

Baker spent one season as the top men's assistant coach at Samford under Glen Fanelli. He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he played for the nationally fifth-ranked Rebels team. While serving as assistant coach for the Bulldogs, Baker also worked as the head tennis pro at Heatherwood Country Club.

"We are fortunate to have had an assistant coach who has had a high level of playing experience. Kemper has proven that he is ready to take over the program as we make the move to the Ohio Valley Conference." said Roller.
