Men's Tennis Set To Take On Two Louisiana Teams In Weekend Play

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's tennis team heads to Louisiana this weekend to take on Southeastern Louisiana and Louisiana-Lafayette. The Bulldogs have lost three of their last four and hope to pick up two more wins Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8 and 9. The Southeastern Louisiana Lions are out of the Southland Conference and have won four of their last five matches. The Lions began the season with a loss to No. 4 Baylor but turned things around with four consecutive wins over Prairie View, Memphis, Florida A&M and Alcorn. Louisiana-Lafayette is out of the Sun Belt Conference and, like Samford, has lost three out of its last four matches. The Ragin' Cajuns began the season with a win over Grambling but have lost three straight to Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas, and LSU. They along with the Bulldogs are looking to get out of a three-match hole. Match play begins on Friday afternoon as the Bulldogs take on Southeastern Louisiana at 1 p.m. On Saturday, Samford will head to Lafayette to take on the Ragin' Cajuns at noon.
