Men's Tennis Stays Undefeated In OVC Play With Win Over Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. ---- The Samford men's tennis team remains undefeated in conference play after defeated Ohio Valley Conference opponent Murray State by a score of 6-1 on Sunday. The Bulldogs now move to 10-6 on the season while extending their league win streak to five. With three wins in doubles action, the Bulldog men secured the doubles point and went in to singles play with the advantage. Senior Jordan Delass started things off in singles play by blanking Yuri Pompeu, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 court. Renan Silveira, Sam Huffman, Brian Dushock and Hank Grant all earned wins at the next four courts to put Samford ahead 6-0. The only win for the Racers came at the No. 6 court where Samford's Oliver Reynolds battled in three sets with Jadir Semensin, eventually falling, 2-6, 6-2, 10-6. The Samford men wrap up this five-match road swing on Wednesday, April 9, with an afternoon match at Tennessee State. The Bulldogs will then have a quick turn around as they head straight back home to host Alabama in an evening match at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion. Samford 6, Murray State 1 Doubles Singles
