Samford and UT-Martin Split Tennis Twin-Bill

MARTIN, Tenn. - Samford spilt a pair of tennis matches at Tennessee Martin on Friday. The Bulldog women took a 4-3 victory while the Skyhawk men won 5-2. David Misner ran his record to 9-6 on the season by defeating UTM's Peter Allnutt 6-2, 6-2 whilr Raphael Bohli also moved to 9-6 by defeating Paulo Hexsel 6-3, 6-0. UT-Martin took the doubles point by taking two of the three sets and then won the other four singles matches to secure the victory and improve to 4-4 on the year. Samford dropped to 6-11. On the women's side, Courtney Collins (8-8) defeated Masomi Yamamoto 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 in the final match to give Samford the narrow 4-3 victory. Once again, UTM took the doubles point, but Emily Nunnally, Hermien du Toit, and Brooke Bryant gave the Bulldogs wins at positions 3-6 to move the Samford to 7-9 on the season while UT-Martin dropped to 2-5. Du Toit's victory keeps her perfect on the season with a 5-0 single's record.
