Tennis Drops Tough Matches to Georgia State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford Women's Tennis Team could not get over the hump against a short-handed Georgia State squad and the Samford men fell short in tight match after tight match as Georgia State took a pair of matches from Samford on Friday. On the men's side Raphael Bohli and Chuck Haddox were both forced to retire to injury and Daivid Misner and Colin Thompson each dropped very close matches and number one and six as Georgia State took a 7-0 victory. The match of the day was at number one doubles were Misner and Bohli dropped a 9-8 set to Pablo Perez Gras and Luke Brenard. Georgia State led 7-6 before Misner and Bohli took two straight games to serve for the set at 8-7, but Gras and Brenard broke serve and then went on to win in the tiebreaker to set the tone for the singles matches.
