Samford Tennis Splits at SLU

HAMMOND, La. - Samford University's women's tennis team won its fifth-straight match 7-0 over Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday night to improve to 8-2 on the season. The Samford men were not as fortunate as they dropped a 4-2 decision against Southeastern. On the women's side, Emily Nunnally improved to 9-1 on the season with a come from behind three set victory over Justine Vosloo at number one singles3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Katherine Jayroe took a 6-4, 7-5 match at number three while Courtney Collins, Jennifer Pharr, Katie Crawford, and Brooke Bryant had easy straight set victories. In doubles, Jayroe and Pharr took a hard fought 9-8 victory while Nunnally and Collins were 8-6 winners to improve to 7-2 on the year. Bryant and Upp cruised to an 8-0 victory to secure the doubles point for the Bulldogs. On the men's side, Southeastern took the doubles point. Samford's David Misner and Raphael Bohli were straight-set winners at number one and number two singles. However, SLU took the number three through five positions for the final three points of the match. Misner is now 6-4 on the year while Bohli improves to 8-2. The tandom fell short in doubles for only the third time this season. Bohli and Misner are now 7-3 in doubles.
