HAMMOND, La. ---- The Samford men's tennis team took on a tough Southeastern Louisiana team Friday afternoon but could not put a stop to the Lions' four-match win string as they fell, 5-2. The Bulldogs fall to 1-5 while the Lions' improve to 5-1.

The Lions, who were trying to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to No. 4 Baylor, dominated both the singles and doubles competition. However, the Bulldogs put a fight, refusing to be swept on the road. Jordan Delass, who ranks at the top of the OVC Top 10 list, captured one of two singles matches for Samford, defeating Matthieu Leboucher at the No. 1 court, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. Richard Walsh took the other win for the Bulldogs at the No. 6 court as he beat Pavol Derkay, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).

At the No. 2 court, Hank Grant fell to Vladimir Paunic, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, while Sam Huffman lost to Ondrej Krivka, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 3 court. Julien Roussel defeated Brian Dushock at the No. 4 court (6-4, 6-2) and Alexis Biarneix defeated Oliver Reynolds (7-5, 7-6) on the No. 5 court.

In doubles, Leboucher/Roussel defeated Grant/Huffman at the No. 1 spot, 8-5, while Delass/Silveira took the only doubles match for Samford at the No. 2 court, defeating Darlis/Krivka, 8-5. At the No. 3 doubles court, Dushock/Walsh fell to Biarneix/Paunic, 8-5.
