BOCA RATON, Fla. ---- The Samford men's tennis fell in its first road match Wednesday to Florida Atlantic University. The Owls defeated the Bulldogs, 5-2, taking two out of three doubles matches and four out six singles matches.

In singles action, senior Bulldog Jordan Delass fell in the No. 1 court to Olivier Sajous (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) while senior Renan Silveira fell to Marc Abdelnour (6-1, 6-3) in the No. 2 court. Senior Hank Grant grabbed the first win for the Bulldog men as he defeated Corey Smith in the No. 3 court (6-3, 7-6) while junior Brian Dushock fell to Karol Szmurlo in the No. 4 court (6-2, 6-4). Senior Sam Huffman defeated Lawrence Harradine (6-1, 6-4) in the No. 5 court while junior Richard Walsh fell to Joshua Scholl (6-7, 6-2, 10-3) at the No. 6 court.

In doubles, Bulldog duo Delass/Silveira fell to Abdelnour/Cadogan, 8-5, in the No. 1 court while Huffman/Grant fell, 8-6, to Sajous/Vardag in the No. 2 court. Dushock/Walsh took the only doubles match for the Bulldogs, defeating Scholl/Majcher, 8-3 in the No. 3 court.
