Men's Tennis Falls at UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Samford University men's tennis team took on the UCF Golden Knights in Atlantic Sun Conference play at the UCF Tennis Courts. UCF took all seven points in the competition winning the three doubles matches and going six-for-six in singles play. The Knights were led by last years Atlantic Sun freshman of the year, Gabriel Strangberg (Bankeryd, Sweden), who took victory in the No. 1 singles match, 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 and teamed up with Augusto Sanabria (San Salvador, El Salvador) in doubles action to take victory for UCF 8-5. Johan Westin (Eskilstuna, Sweden) posted his 60th career singles victory which puts him two shy of tieing the school record, currently held by Pedro Pecheco (62). "It is a good start for us. The guys played well and got the opportunity to get the feel of competitive tennis again," said Coach Bobby Cashman.
