Samford Men's Golf To Play In Francis Marion Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Samford men's golf team continues its fall season, Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 17-18), as they play in the 23rd-annual Raines Development Group Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Francis Marion University at the Country Club of South Carolina. The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday and play will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Monday. The course is a par 72 layout measured at 7,101 yards. Joining the Samford men in the tournament field are Francis Marion University, Appalachian State University, Charleston Southern University, East Carolina University, Elon University, Furman University, Georgia College & State University, Presbyterian College, USC Aiken, Troy University, Western Carolina University, Winthrop University, Wofford College, and Ohio Valley Conference opponent and defending tournament champion Jacksonville State University. The Bulldogs come off a fifth place finish in the Troy Invitational last week. Senior Bulldog Bobby Baird led the way for the Bulldogs as he finished in fourth place.
