Bradley Farmer Earns All-Freshman Honors

MACON, Ga. - Samford golfers Bradley Farmer and Kelly Villarreal were recently named to the 2002 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's and Women's All-Freshman Teams for their performances in their inaugural collegiate seasons.

Farmer finished the season with a stroke average of 77.3 and finished in the Top 20 of four tournaments. He just missed the Top-10 of two tournaments, finishing 11th at the Gulf Coast Collegiate Classic and the Mercer Invitational. The Hermitage, Tenn., native also fired his best round of 71 and his best three-round total of 229 in his home state at the Belmont Invitational

Villarreal, from Decatur, Ala., posted five Top-20 finishes including one Top 5 and finished her first season with a stroke average of 83.2. Her best finish was as runner-up in the Jacksonville State Chris Banister Classic, also posting her lowest round of the season, 76, in the second round of the JSU tournament.
