BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Samford men's golf team will compete in the UK Bluegrass Invitational Sunday and Monday, April 13-14, which will be the last tournament for the Bulldogs before taking part in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship tournament. The two-day event is hosted by the University of Kentucky and will be held at UK's own 7,013-yard, par-72 Big Blue Course in Lexington, Ky.

The Bulldogs come off a devastating performance in the Furman Intercollegiate two weeks ago. Samford sat securely in seventh place out of 24 teams after the first round of the tournament but the next two rounds brought too many obstacles for the Bulldog men to overcome, dropping them to 21st place to finish the tournament.

Samford hopes to bounce back this week with a positive finish at the UK Bluegrass Invitational to head into the OVC Tournament on a good note.

The two-day tournament format includes 36 hoes of play Sunday and a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. The field includes Akron, Austin Peay, Dayton, Ball State, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Miami, Morehead State, Murray State, Ohio University, Samford, Missouri, Toledo, Western Kentucky, Western Carolina and host team Kentucky.

Play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday and 8 a.m. ET on Monday. Complete results can be found on www.golfstat.com and a full recap can be found on www.samfordsports.com at the conclusion of each day.
