Men's Golf 15th at JSU Amoco Ultimate
April 1, 2002 GLENCOE, Ala. - Austin Peay fired an eight-under par score of 280 after the first round to take the lead in the Amoco Ultimate/Young Oil Intercollegiate hosted by Jacksonville State University at Silver Lakes on Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The second round was suspended with 1-3 holes remaining, due to darkness. The second round will be completed at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and the final round will begin at 8:18 a.m., based on round 1 final results. Samford posted a 317 to place 15th, as sophomore Andy McRae shot a three-over-par 75 to lead the Bulldogs. Bradley Farmer shot six-over-par 78 to tie at 52nd, while Mike Clements (80), Seth Mobley (84) and Russell Kelly (86) rounded out the Samford roster. Host Jacksonville State placed second with a 287. Columbus State fired a 293 for third and South Alabama and Morehead State each shot a 294 to round out the top 5 in the 17-team field. Austin Peay's Joe Humston and Florida Atlantic's Matt Anderson each shot a 3-under par 69 to tie for first place.
