CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Samford's men's golf team improved by nine shots on the second round to finish fourth at the Precept Intercollegiate hosted by Austin Peay. The women's team fell back a couple of places and finished fifth.

Seth Mobley shot a second-round 74 to finish tied for 13th (153). Bradley Farmer tied for 15th, shooting a 79-75 (154). Ryan Mayberry was 19th, shooting 81-75 (156). Andy McRae shot 76-81 (157) to finish tied for 23rd.

The women's team was led by Tricia Harlow's sixth-place finish. Harlow shot 82-81 (163). Kelly Villarreal shot 85-88 (173) to finish tied for 20th. Kelly Stout was 23rd, shooting 88-86 (174). Tara Clayton was one stroke back, shooting 87-88 (175), and tying for 26th. Sara Gossum finished in 42nd, shooting and opening day 88.

This was the final fall tournament of the golf season. The spring season is highlighted by a tournament hosted by Samford in March 2003.
