Men's Golf Struggles at JSU

GLENCOE, Ala. - Austin Peay shot a three-round total of 865, one better than host Jacksonville State, to win the Amoco Ultimate-Young Oil Intercollegiate golf tournament at the Silver Lakes Golf Club. Samford finished 14th with a total of 919. Morehead State (870), Columbus State (877) and South Alabama (884) rounded out the tournament's Top five. The Bulldogs fired their best round of the two-day event on Tuesday, shooting 299. Andy McRae led the Bulldogs in the tournament, shooting a 73 on Tuesday for a six-over-par total of 222. McRae finished in a tie for 20th position, his second Top-20 finish in Samford's three spring tournaments. Seth Mobley fired even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish tied with Bradley Farmer at 233, followed by Mike Clements (234) and Russell Kelly (240). Morehead State's Josh Teeter shot two under-par rounds in the tournament, including a final-round 68, to claim the individual medal with a 208.
