BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football program honored its seniors with the annual Senior Night Banquet Thursday night at the Birmingham Marriott.

The banquet was held to honor the five seniors on the 2005 squad. The captain awards were given to the team's five senior captains, Brad Booth, Ossie Buchannon, Cortland Finnegan, Kevin Pughsley and Steve Wisdom. The seniors were also presented with a framed jersey.

Also at the banquet, the individual awards were presented by head coach Bill Gray. The Bobby Bowden Award was given to Pughsley. The Kenny Morgan Award for character was given to Wisdom. Booth received the Team Me Award for unselfish play.

The Offensive Most Valuable Player Award went to Buchannon. Finnegan was named both the Defensive MVP and the Special Teams MVP.

Senior Chris Williams, who has served the team as a manager was also honored at the banquet.
