Adcock Named To FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford senior quarterback Jefferson Adcock was one of 51 players named to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team when the team was released on Friday.

Adcock started 30 of the 33 games he played in while at Samford, and in 2007, he led the team in passing for the third-straight season.

Adcock finished his career ranked third in school history in total offense with 6,135 career yards. He also ranks fourth in school history in passing yards with 5,725 career yards passing.

In the classroom, Adcock posted a 3.439 GPA, and he received his undergraduate degree in May, 2007. He is currently enrolled in Samford's MBA program.

Adcock was named to the Ohio Valley Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07. He has also been named to Samford's Dean's List in Fall 2004, Spring 2005 and Spring 2006. Adcock was inducted into Samford's chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society in the spring of 2007.

Adcock was named a semifinalist for the prestigious Draddy Trophy, which recognizes combined academic success, football performance and community leadership.
