Nov. 9, 2005 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team practiced Wednesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium in shorts and helmets. The Bulldogs are continuing to prepare for Saturday's game against Jacksonville State. "We are playing an in-state rival and a quality football team in Jacksonville State," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "It's an opportunity for us to get to six wins and have a winning season. The biggest goal for us is to come out and play well, protect the football and try to play a solid football game." Gray added that his players were looking forward to Saturday's contest. "It's going to be an exciting environment," Gray said. "Our players are excited and looking forward to the opportunity. We stumbled a little last week, and we are ready to get back out on the field and try to correct those mistakes and see if we can make something happen." The Bulldogs will practice again on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff from Seibert Stadium. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com or www.al.com/wvsu.
