Lines And Quarterback Have Good Day In Football Workout
Nov. 2, 2005 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team practiced for about two hours Wednesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs (5-4, 4-2 OVC) are continuing to prepare for Saturday afternoon's game at Tennessee Tech. Head Coach Bill Gray said he liked the way his team worked leading into its 10th game of the season. "I thought our offensive line continued to work well," Gray said. "Jefferson Adcock is continuing to get better each week. He had a good week of practice last week and performed well in last week's game, and he is doing the same this week." Gray also praised the defense for its work in Wednesday's workout. "Defensively, we are getting good leadership from the guys up front," Gray said. "That comes with playing well on Saturday. It is amazing when you play well on Saturday, all of a sudden, you pick up the tempo in practice a little the next week. We've had a good few days, and we need to get one more in and see what happens." The Bulldogs will practice again on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Seibert Stadium. The team will depart for Cookeville, Tenn., Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff from Tennessee Tech's Tucker Stadium. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com or www.al.com/wvsu.
