Oct. 31, 2005 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team practiced for about 45 minutes Monday afternoon, correcting mistakes from last Saturday's 31-11 win over Tennessee State. "We are continuing to make some mistakes that give us reason to come out here and work," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "We have some things that we still aren't doing very well. We have other things that we are having to correct less and less. "I think we are maturing as a team," Gray said. "We are still getting plays from several different areas, but I still think we haven't played our best game. Our guys are coming to practice with confidence, they are very attentive in meetings, and that kind of thing carries over into Saturday. We are looking forward to a good week of work." The Bulldogs are looking for their fourth-straight win overall, and their second win in a row on the road. "We have a chance to go .500 on the road in conference play," Gray said. "We've been very fortunate to take care of business at home as well. I have a lot of respect for the coaching staff at Tennessee Tech. It's their Homecoming, and they will be excited about playing in front of a big crowd at home. So, we have a lot to prepare for this week." The Bulldogs will practice again on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. at Seibert Stadium. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff from Tucker Stadium in Cookeville, Tenn. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com or www.al.com/wvsu.
